We Love Buttons!
Here is the new Pi POD button design. It is incredibly fun to see how many buttons from all over the country and world you can collect. Last year we came home from the FIRST LEGO League World Competition with our hats covered. This year it will be fun to hand buttons out at the LEGOLAND North American Open.
Riley Orchards
Pi POD meeting with Alan Riley (top) and Jordan Riley
(bottom). Alan and Jordan own a family orchard. We are excited to have made
contact with them. They have been fantastic! They
provide produce to large companies as well as farmers markets. They have been very supportive of Mission: Edible, and we are hoping they are the first growers in Utah to give Mission: Edible a try.

What is Mission Edible?
Mission: Edible \'mi-shan e'de-bel\ n. [idea] 1: A method of helping the consumer of food (esp. produce) to obtain more knowledge concerning their purchase of food, ie. scanning a QR code on the food of purchase with an intelligent cellular device, thus connecting the consumer to a webpage containing information concerning the origin and safety of the food of purchase.
In other words, it is the idea of putting QR codes on food so that a consumer can scan them with a smart phone and get information from a website about where the food comes from. It is good for the consumer and good for the grower. The grower can share a lot of information with the consumer in a little bit of space.

Food Safety Survey
Our team is working on a new challenge this year in the field of food safety. How safe do you think our food is? We would like to find out. Please take a few minutes to answer the survey questions below. Your feedback could be just the spark we need to come up with a new innovation in food safety. We are looking for a wide range of respondents (young to old/ male and female). If you have respondents from varying categories at your home, we would like to hear from all of you.
